Taking a Breath in Mexico

Sometimes a breath is needed.
A moment.
A pause.
A chance to open yourself to something different… something new. To give yourself permission to reset. To allow the mind to become still. To simply be. To explore. To try on something that feels different than your usual way of moving through the world.
There is something powerful about stepping out of routine and allowing curiosity to take the lead. Not forcing. Not fixing. Just noticing. Just wondering. Just being open enough to experience something new.
While I was in Mexico, I found myself watching the whales. Seeing a whale blow, then breach again and again, was breathtaking. But it also made me think. It reminded me of how often people carry fear deep inside the body. They hold it in. They tuck it down. And then they go back under again, into the deep, into the familiar, because somehow what is underneath can feel safer than being fully seen.
And yet, when that whale breached, there was such power in it. Such release. Such life. Such playful energy.
It made me wonder how many people are carrying fear inside, holding it tightly, waiting, protecting, hiding in the deeper waters of habit, stress, overwhelm, or uncertainty. Staying underneath because it feels more comfortable than rising up into the unknown.
But what if the breach is where freedom begins?
What if letting that fear move through you could create space for something else — confidence, playfulness, lightness, joy?
What if giving yourself permission to pause, breathe, and reset could help you rise differently?
Sometimes we do not need to have all the answers. Sometimes we simply need a moment to stop gripping so tightly. To soften. To notice. To become curious. To let ourselves explore a new way of being.
Maybe that is what a reset really is.
Not becoming someone else.
But giving yourself permission to surface.
To breathe.
To release what you have been holding.
And to discover that rising up can feel playful too.
Mexico reminded me that there is wisdom in the pause. In the breath. In the willingness to try on something new.
And maybe that is your reminder today too:
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to reset.
You are allowed to breathe.
And you are allowed to rise with a little more confidence, a little more curiosity, and a little more joy.
