Finding My Voice — Right Before I Take the Stage

Tonight, I take the stage.

And I’ll be honest…
there’s a moment right before stepping out where everything goes quiet—and your mind asks, “Are you ready?”

I used to think confidence had to come first.
That I needed to feel completely ready before I spoke.

But I’ve learned something different.

Confidence doesn’t come first.
Voice comes first.

You don’t find your voice when everything feels calm and certain.
You find it in the moment your heart is beating faster…
your breath catches…
and you choose to speak anyway.

That feeling? It’s not fear.
It’s energy.
It means this moment matters.

And instead of pushing it away, I’ve learned to use it.

Because this is what I teach.

Not how to eliminate the feeling…
but how to move with it.

Tonight isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about connection.

Because somewhere in that room is someone who has been holding back—
waiting to feel confident enough to speak up.

And maybe tonight, they realize they don’t have to wait.

They can speak…
and let the confidence follow.

Tonight, I take the stage.
Not because I feel perfectly ready—
but because I’m willing.

And sometimes… that’s where your voice begins.
